Evac+Chair attending Health and Safety Event

28 March 2018

Evac+Chair will again be showcasing its world-leading emergency stair-descent solutions at this year’s Health and Safety Event, taking place at Birmingham’s NEC from 10 - 12 April 2018, stand number HS120.

As well as promoting its innovative product range, Evac+Chair will be launching a new campaign – The changing nature of risk – which aims to inform health and safety practitioners of the new, emerging evacuation risks within modern society.

With a rapid change to workforces over the last decade, employers now need to have greater clarity on how every member of their team should be made safe during emergency evacuation situations.

Evac+Chair wants to explore the variety and scale of modern-day evacuation risks which health and safety managers now need to cater for. The company will be surveying visitors gathering views on the changing role of risks.

Everyone that takes part in the survey will be entered into a competition to win high street vouchers worth £25, there will be a winner every day of the show. For a chance to win visit Evac+Chair at stand HS120 and follow #ChangingRoleOfRisks.

Evac+Chair will also be addressing the need for businesses to have emergency evacuation procedures specific to security threats at a keynote speaker session.

Gary Hicks, manager of the Evac+Chair Dubai office explains, “While fire evacuation procedures may be similar, there are crucial differences that businesses need to be aware of and to start planning for, if they have not done so already. As the current threat level for international terrorism in the UK is severe, it is imperative that every business owner, nationwide has a comprehensive and up-to-date evacuation procedure in place.”

“We’re really excited to be able to explore these issues and create a forum for conversation at the Health and Safety Event in April. As it’s a building’s owner’s responsibility for ensuring the safe evacuation of all of its employees and visitors, we’ll be: discussing legislation requirements, sharing best practice and explaining how to train key team members so, in the event of an incident, all preparations which could and should have happened, come into play.”

Evac+Chair is the world’s leading supplier and original manufacturer of evacuation chairs. With a wide range of Evac+Chairs to suit any need, each model is designed to help mobility-impaired people descend a staircase in any emergency with the helper neither needing to lift nor have great physical strength.

Gary Hicks will be speaking on Wednesday 11 April at the Fire Safety Keynote Theatre at 12.30pm at the Health and Safety Event. Alternatively, look out for Evac+Chair on stand HS120 at The Health & Safety Event
